Monte Patterson is a filmmaker and visual artist. Born in Gary, Indiana, he graduated high school from Culver Academy in Culver, Indiana and received his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Currently, Monte is pursuing his MFA at Ohio University's School of Film, where he teaches Storyboarding.

"I am drawn to the complex relationships that construct the identity of Americans. The works attempt to delight through constructed narratives, but at the core, is the exposition of loneliness and isolation."

His film art has won numerous awards including a Fellowship in 2005, and two top prizes at Cinematexas 11. He has shown at galleries in Chicago, New York City, Austin, and Prague.
